Smartphone web interfaces
The smartphone is increasingly the primary internet connected device of people who make up the market for small organisations. Web apps offer a costly route to showing response to such market needs. Teddy Edward suggests that a more cost effective route is to offer a web site that shows a different face on smartphones than on standard browsers. The User gets an interface and content suited to the small screen of a smartphone; the Company gets a public website that is easily updated by staff working on tight time budgets. The maintenance costs of such a site are restricted to one portal, rather than needing to pay both for website and for App maintenance.
